TechSoup Canada is dedicated to empowering charities, nonprofits and libraries with the effective use of technology. Techsoup helps connect nonprofits to donated and discounted technologies through their technology donations program and provides technology learning resources. Techsoup also provides a “nonprofit validation service” that other service providers like Google use to confirm that an organization is a verified nonprofit in order to qualify for discounted or free tech resources.

DigitalOcean provides a developer platform for technology projects. DigitalOcean has a sponsorship program that provides credits to non-profits, educational institutions, and open source projects. To apply, contact their sponsorship team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Microsoft provides free or discounted access to software and solutions such as Office365, Surface hardware, or up to $3,500 USD per year in Microsoft Azure credits.
Mailchimp is well known for their emailing system, but they also offer a simple website design and hosting option. This is available on their free plan but they do offer a discount on paid plans for non-profits and charities.
Canva Pro is free for any Canadian charities or registered non-profits. They are a great graphic design platform, used to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents and other visual content (see our resources Free Media). What you can also do through Canva is connect your social media account(s) and use their Content Planner to create and schedule your social media posts.
Hootsuite is a social media management platform. HootGiving is a program by Hootsuite that offers discounts to non-profits.
Linktree is a freemium social media reference landing page. Basic plan is free and they offer Linktr.ee Pro free to registered charities worldwide.
Tap Bio is a link in bio tool that gives you the ability to create personalized, branded cards filled with links, pictures or messages you want to share with your Instagram followers. If you are the creative type, this would be a fun new tool to play with as an alternative to Linktr.ee.
The basic plan is free, but after you sign up, contact their support team (through your account) to be upgraded to the free all inclusive charity account by sending them your charity number! If you are not yet a charity but a registered non-profit, they go case by case. So there is still a possibility if you submit your non-profit/society number.
